Age of a ticket in Business Days, excluding Weekends and Public Hoildays

We have a ticket management application, which requires us to calculate the Gross Age of a ticket, in number of Business Days. We can use (Current Time Stamp - Creation Time Stamp) to calculate the duration(in days) for which a ticket has been open, but the requirement is to exclude Weekends as well as Public Hoildays from this duration calculation.

Could you please advise on how it could be done?

For Public Holidays, you will need to maintain a lookup table of all recognized holidays and use that to exclude from your dates.
