Getting Data In

Why can't I log back in to Splunk 6.2.1 after logging off without having to delete the password file or reinstall?

I downloaded Splunk Ent., logged on, played around with it a bit, then logged off. When I tried to log on again, I'd get "invalid username or password" error message. I had to uninstall/reinstall to fix it. Does anyone know how to permanently fix this. I shouldn't have to reinstall or recreate password files every time I log in. I'm using the Win 64 bit version, Splunk 6.2.1.

Can you be a little more explicit when you are referring to a password file?

Did you change the admin account's initial password "changeme" to something else?
