Can the Splunk App for Unix and Linux run on Windows indexers and search heads?

Hi everyone,

Can someone confirm or verify that I can run the Splunk App for *Nix v5.01 on a Windows Indexer/Search Head?

I realize that I can not access the app via IE, but the documentation is not clear on whether I can run the app on a Windows indexer.

Confirmation would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Andrew

To supplement, this is said verbatim in the documentation for the Splunk App for Unix and Linux 🙂

"You can deploy the Splunk App for Unix and Linux on Windows search heads and use Windows indexers to index the data."
