Splunk Search

Invalid latest event date in the Home ->Data section?

We are indexing data into Splunk every day and its coming in the search results, but Splunk home page (Splunk version 6.1.1) showing older date like below under Home-> Data section,

Earliest Event : 4 month ago
Latest Event : 4 month ago

to correct this do we need enable any settings? or these events are coming from Splunk.com and because our system restricted to connect external calls/system?.

Hi,

The page you are taking about is the default Home page of the search application.

It is based on the default index "main", if you look into the manager: Settings / Data / Indexes and the earliest / latest event dates of the main index, they should be the same.

You should begin by creating your own application and your own home page adapted to your context, it quite simple to create an Home page which will show the first and last event of an index
