What is the host field format for Splunk Mobile App login?

OK so I downloaded the Splunk mobile app.....silly question. to log in you must provide your name, password, and host. What format does the host field take? I have tried all sorts of formats:

(indexer1.doman name)
(indexer FQDN)

My cell phone is using VPN so I can open a browser to my splunk instance but for the Mobile app??? Any suggestions?

Hello,

The previous answer was relevant for an older Splunk Mobile App release that still used the Mobile Access Server. The Mobile Access server has been deprecated in favor of the Splunk Add-on for Mobile Access.

There have been changes in the host formatting. Depending on whether you're using SSO, non-SSO or a DMZ/proxy, login is slightly different. You can read more under the "Log in using Splunk platform credentials" section of the Splunk Mobile App documentation:

Glad you found the information you needed. I was just about to point you there. Also note that if the mobile server is configured to use a port other than the default (443), then you must enter https://: at login on the mobile app.

We don't have Splunk Mobile App docs as the app is easy to use, but you have a point about making the login information for the app more available. I put it in the mobile server docs as the app is used to test the server configuration.
