I am getting the following error when using db connect. I cannot get java bridge server running, although I have been through many of the steps outlined in other q/a on this forum.

Any help is much appreciated!
I ended up deleting the $SPLUNK_DB/persistentstorage/dbx/global as noted in another case, restarting splunk and the problem was fixed! Even though the log error did not mention persistentstorage the fix seemed to work.

Is splunkd SSL disabled? Is splunkd running on a port other than 8089? Either of these conditions are known issues that will break DB Connect 1.x.
