Changing Color of Splunk's dashboard body

I'd like to add a CSS file to change the body color of the dashboard background. I want the color to be as while as this search box (#FFFFFF)

I created the CSS file in /appserver/static/, but the body color hasn't changed. I've done work for coloring other modules such as buttons and boarders which worked, but I can't get the actual background of the view to change colors.

Here is my CSS for background body color:

/* background colors
---------------------------------*/

/* default page color */
body {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
}

Am I missing something?

Did you reference your CSS in the view tag? See Customize CSS in the documentation.

With the file name in quotes, and inside the view tag? -- Just making sure.
