Hi expert:
When I install the Forward on AIX system, there are some error.
Splunk forward version:6.0
AIX version: 5.3 5700

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
RPM Error Summary:
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
The following errors during installation occurred:
error: failed dependencies:
/bin/uname is needed by splunkforwarder-6.0-182037
/bin/mv is needed by splunkforwarder-6.0-182037

I have read the article from http://answers.splunk.com/answers/45469/forwarder-install-via-rpm-failed-dependencies.

But The Universal Forward is for AIX. The Article is based on Linux.
The Universal Forward installed via "smitty" on AIX.
Is there anything can be used to fix the problem?

Thank you!

Splunk seems to only have a .tgz for AIX, what are you using for your installation source? A .tgz should just need to be extracted to /opt/splunkforwarder.

I don't know anything about smitty.

Try extracting the .tgz to /opt/splunkforwarder, then running /opt/splunkforwarder/bin/splunk, without doing anything via smit.
