Splunk Prerelease 6.0.0.2 and WS2003

This isn't so much of a question as it is informative. We recently got a copy of Splunk 6.0.0.2, do not use it on Windows Server 2003! We installed it on 3 different servers, it corrupted the registries on each one of the servers. Splunk has confirmed that it is a bug in the installer package and they are working to correct it. In the mean time... Just don't do it, we had to completely rebuild the boxes before we could install anything on the boxes, splunk related or not.

It does work fine on the WS2008 and WS2008R2 boxes.

The new release, 6.0.1 has fixed this issue. It does have another bug that is causing some headache though: bug SPL-76980.
